For complex, technical industries, short-form blogs and social media doesn’t usually result in new customers or more attention from your target customers.

What you need are long-form communications, that give you the space to fully present your products and explain the impact these products will have on customers’ services and their bottom lines.

These kinds of communications are tricky: you need to be technical, but not boring and jargon-heavy; you need to be informative and not too sales-y; and your readers need to feel that they’ve learned something new.

As a seasoned technology and science journalist for 20 years, I have been doing just that. I’ve understood how to frame new technologies in a way that even the most technology-unaware reader could understand, while also being clear about the impact of these technologies and how they can be adapted.

But most importantly, I’ve also learned how to hold an audience’s attention right to the very last word.

I’ve written white papers for Aspermont, case studies for industry magazines, and long-form scientific blogs for science organisations like Saskatchewan Resource Council, breaking readership records and increasing web traffic substantially.

How I work:

You’ll provide me with a one-page brief of what the topic is, and the sources you’d like me to interview.

I’ll respond with additional clarifying questions.

I’ll then interview the required sources, and complete the research.

Then, I will provide you with a detailed outline of what the text will look like.

We’ll discuss in detail what needs to be included and what can be excluded, deciding on a final outline.

I will then take this outline and write the full document.

Once the document is delivered, there will be one round of edits.

And voila! Your long-form report is complete.
